Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, over a half-century ago, while I was still a child, I recall hearing several old people offer the following explanation for the great disasters that had befallen Russia: Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened. Since then I have spent well-nigh fifty years working on the history of our revolution; in the process, I have read hundreds of books, collected hundreds of personal testimonies, and have already contributed eight volumes of my own toward the effort of clearing away the rubble left by that upheaval. But if I were asked today to formulate as concisely as possible the leading cause of the ruinous revolution that swallowed up some sixty millions of our people, I could not put it more accurately than to repeat: Men have forgotten God; that’s why all this has happened. Christopher Langan
Christopher Michael Langan is an American independent scholar known for his very high IQ, measured at around 195. When Langan was independently tested by 20/20, he broke the ceiling of the test. As a result of his score, he has been described as the smartest man in America as well as the smartest man in the world by some journalists.
Langan has developed a theory of the relationship between mind and reality, which he calls the Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe (CTMU). Influenced by the works of John Archibald Wheeler and Stephen Hawking among others, the work’s central thesis is that reality is a self-processing, self-referential language, embodying a dual-aspect monism and consisting of infocognition, or information that resides in syntactic operators within reality. Most people are held back not by their innate ability, but by their mindset. They think intelligence is fixed, but it isn’t. Your brain is like a muscle. The more you use it and struggle, the more it grows. New research shows we can take control of our ability to learn. We can all become better learners. We just need to build our brains in the right way. (Wikipedia)
Love of Wisdom
Philosophy is a way of thinking about the world, the universe, and society. It works by asking fundamental questions about the nature of human thought, the nature of the universe, and the connections between them. The ideas in philosophy are often general and abstract.
The noun philosophy means the study of proper behavior and the search for wisdom. When someone studies philosophy, they want to understand how and why people do certain things and how to live a good life. In other words, they want to know the meaning of life.
Philosophy is a study that seeks to understand the mysteries of existence and reality. It tries to discover the nature of truth and knowledge and to find what is of basic value and importance in life. It also examines the relationships between humanity and nature and between the individual and society. (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy)

Robbert Dijkgraaf
Quantum Questions Inspire New Math. To fully understand the quantum world, we may have to develop a new realm of mathematics. If all mathematics disappeared today, physics would be set back exactly one week, to which a mathematician had the clever riposte. This was the week that God created the world.
Truth and clarity. Perhaps the pair of mathematical rigor and physical intuition should be added as another example of two mutually exclusive qualities. You can look at the world with a mathematical eye or with a complementary physical eye, but don’t dare to open both. (Wikipedia)
Georges Lemaître
Georges Lemaître was a Roman Catholic priest, mathematician, astronomer, and professor of physics at the Catholic University of Louvain. He proposed on theoretical grounds that the universe is expanding, which was observationally confirmed soon afterward by Edwin Hubble. He was the first to derive what is now known as Hubble’s law, or the Hubble-Lemaître law, and made the first estimation of what is now called the Hubble constant, which he published in 1927, two years before Hubble’s article. Lemaître also proposed what became known as the Big Bang Theory of the creation of the universe, originally calling it the hypothesis of the primeval atom. (Wikipedia)
